What is Designer-on-Demand?

 

Our Designer-on-Demand service is designed for individuals who need more on-going help but do not necessarily want to retain us for a full-service design project. They need ongoing design advice on an as-needed basis, and not necessarily all at once. After our 2-hour design consultation or even the design stage, you may still need more help to implement the project. You may need some occasional guidance or a second opinion before making purchases for your home.

Maybe you enjoy the process of sourcing and purchasing your own furnishings, but need a designer’s eyes to make sure they all work well together to create your happy place. Designer-on-Demand gives you the flexibility to tap into our design knowledge and expertise when you need it.

Who is it ideal for?

  • You have done the 2-hour design consultation and you still need a little bit more help.

  • You have completed stage two of the design stage and are eager to implement the vision yourself but would still like a little bit more help.

  • If you need assurance that everything that you plan to purchase will work well together, e.g. furniture, flooring, tiles, and even down to fabric selection for your new sofa.

  • If you need assistance in sourcing so you know what exactly to buy.

  • You are hiring a kitchen or bath company to renovate and millwork design is involved, but you still need our help with designing all the details.  (Please note that all the final measurements will be the responsibility of the millwork supplier).

You may purchase a minimum of a 10-hour time block. Your need can be immediate or for a later project, but please keep in mind that time blocks are good for 90 days and there is a minimum of one hour billed.

Each time you request our services - anything from a text message to a full shopping day running around furniture stores with you, we will deduct that time from your available time. Time deductions are made in increments of 15 minutes. We will send you an email when you have used up 8 hours of your time. If you need more time, Designer-On-Demand time blocks can be purchased in increments of 10 hours. Any unused time will be rolled over for another 90 days. However, if you still have unused time after 90 days, we will refund you the balance.

  • An initial design consultation is required prior to moving forward with our Designer-on-Demand service.

  • This service is not intended to replace our full design service in which we customize our design for you and come up with a design concept, floor plans, mood boards, and 3-d renderings for you.

  • Please note prices do not include taxes & are subject to change.

  • Each time you request our services - anything from a text message to a full shopping day running around furniture stores with you, we will deduct that time from your available time.   • This is not intended to be an instant response service. We usually CAN NOT reply to text messages and phone calls instantly, especially if they are outside of our business hours (M-F 9:30 am to 4:30 pm), but we will do our best to return your call or email within one business day.

  • If you are out shopping and need our remote assistance, you may send pictures or messages to us via WhatsApp or sometimes, via text messages (although it may not be as reliable). To do this, you must schedule ahead of time for us to go shopping with you either remotely or in person. Travel time will also be counted.

  • You are aware that the Designer-on-Demand service is not like our typical design service, where we work with a list of qualified vendors and tradespeople. We are simply providing our opinion based on our design expertise. We will not be held responsible for any errors that occur from using this service.

  • Please note that our design advice ends when you have no more time remaining, even if your project is ongoing. You are welcome to purchase another 10-hour time block

  • We reserve the right to cancel the Designer-on-Demand service if we believe that it is not being used for its intended purpose. Your remaining balance will be refunded to you in the event that we cancel the service for this reason (if no time has been used at all, a one-hour minimum will be deducted as an administration fee).

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we kindly request 24 hours’ notice, or charges for one hour of the missed appointment may be applied to your purchased time. 

  • We shall retain ownership of the design, including any drawings, renderings, sketches, samples, or other materials prepared by us during the course of your project. Our ownership shall include any copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other proprietary rights existing in the design. You shall not use the design for additions to this Project or for any other project without obtaining our permission and paying appropriate compensation.

  • If we are working with your outside consultants and tradesmen, including but not limited to architects, structural engineers, lighting consultants, contractors, millwork builders, etc., they shall be retained and paid for by you, and we shall use every effort to cooperate with these consultants. Such consultants shall be responsible for code compliance in the various areas of their expertise.

  • We shall have the right to document the Project in progress and when completed, by photography or other means, which we may use for portfolio, brochure, public display, and similar publicity purposes. A general location of the Project may be used in connection with the documentation, but no personal information, such as your name, will be publicized unless specified to the contrary. If we choose to document the Project, we shall pay the costs of documentation. In addition, if you document the Project or share it on social media platforms, you shall give us design credit.

  • We and you are both independent contractors. This agreement is not an employment agreement, nor does it constitute a joint venture or partnership between us and you. Nothing contained herein shall be construed to be inconsistent with this independent contractor relationship.

  • Neither our nor your rights and duties may be assigned by either party without the written consent of the other party, except that we may assign payments due hereunder.
